She mentioned in passing that her family had to move often because of her father’s job in the “football industry,” but she didn’t share his identity. We can now tell you that her father is Justin Anderson, a professional college football coach and former player.

While Kenedi might have been trying to keep his identity on the downlow, the proud father was having none of it. He took to Twitter to express his excitement at his daughter’s achievement.

First, he reposted a tweet from Kenedi that read: “I cannot believe I had #AMomentLikeThis. I GOT THE #PlatinumTicket AND IM HEADING TO HOLLYWOOD!!! Thanks so much, @KatyPerry, @LukeBryan, and @LionelRichie! #AmericanIdol.”

Anderson’s response was: “Love you @kenedianderson_! Dreams do come true when you work hard for them! God is good!! #AmericanIdol #kenedianderson”

Then later, he reposted a clip of his daughter’s audition, writing: “God is good! Stay true to yourself and Him and he will continue to guide your path! Proud of who you are!!!! Love you kiddo!!!”
